The Juggling Act
When you imagine a juggler, you most likely think about the precision and timing necessary to keep each item in the air. I believe we all do some juggling in our lives to keep the proper priorities:
I recently read a book called “The Juggling Act: Bringing Balance to Your Faith, Family, and Work” by Pat Gelsinger. This book is faith based and full of good Biblical wisdom. One idea that is proposed in the book, was to create a personal mission statement along with identifying core values. Each of the core values that the author chose were based upon Scripture. I have chosen a Scripture to accompany my personal mission statement as well.
The idea of a mission statement is not new to me, we use these for each of our businesses to keep us on course, what was new to me was applying a mission statement to my personal life. Living on purpose is a theme in my daily life that has shaped not only my prayer life but also my decision-making process. Asking the Lord to show you any areas in my life that are not pleasing to Him is a daily practice. There are always adjustments that must be made as I listen for direction from God.
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.
Are you living on purpose? As a Christian our purpose here is to please God by sharing the good news with the lost. The heart of God is that none should perish, let’s align our hearts with His!
LIVE A LIFE FILLED WITH LOVE, FOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST. HE LOVED US AND OFFERED HIMSELF AS A SACRIFICE FOR US, A PLEASING AROMA TO GOD.
