A Call to Take Action
Throughout the book of Proverbs, Solomon pleads with us to pay attention to God’s Word. Solomon makes us keenly aware that God’s wisdom is available BUT it must be received. It must be yielded to. It must be implemented in one’s life for it to have a positive effect. It is not enough for us to shun sin and evil. Mere head knowledge of God’s Word is not enough. We must seek wisdom and knowledge. It must be internalized and followed if it is to impact our lives.

“MY SON, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY; TURN YOUR EAR TO MY WORDS. DO NOT LET THEM OUT OF YOUR SIGHT, KEEP THEM WITHIN YOUR HEART;
FOR THEY ARE LIFE TO THOSE WHO FIND THEM AND HEALTH TO ONE’S WHOLE BODY.” PROVERBS 4:20-22

Solomon is calling us to take action! Our entire being is to be actively involved in chasing after, taking hold of, and adopting God’s Word into our lives:
- turn your ears
- keep them in your sight
- keep them in your heart
- life to those who seek (find)
- health to one’s whole body
How will you take action today? How will you dedicate each part of your body to seek God’s wisdom?

THEREFORE DO NOT LET SIN REIGN IN YOUR MORTAL BODY SO THAT YOU OBEY ITS EVIL DESIRES. DO NOT OFFER ANY PART OF YOURSELF TO SIN AS AN INSTRUMENT OF WICKEDNESS, BUT RATHER OFFER YOURSELVES TO GOD AS THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN BROUGHT FROM DEATH TO LIFE; AND OFFER EVERY PART OF YOURSELF TO HIM AS AN INSTRUMENT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. FOR SIN SHALL NO LONGER BE YOUR MASTER, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, BUT UNDER GRACE.”
