Are You Praying the Right Prayer?
In the Old Testament, Caleb, at the ripe old age of eighty, prayed saying, “God, give me another mountain.” Do you think you could ask for that same thing at that age? Are you praying the right prayer?
Something I always tell my clients is, “If you’re not challenged in life, you’re not moving forward. If life seems too easy and free-flowing, you’re probably not getting any better at it. You’re only taking up space and waiting for the rich reward in heaven.”
The truth is, there are rewards to gain here on earth too and God has significant plans for you to fulfill. He wants you to live a vibrant, praise-worthy life on this earth AND in heaven.
Despite this, I often see and hear self-limiting beliefs…
- “I’m too old to start a new career.”
- “I only have a high school diploma; no one will listen to what I have to say.”
- “I’ve done too much wrong to ever get anything right.”
- “I’m too far in debt.”
Listen, you get what you pray for and if you’re daily prayers and self-talk are filled with negativity and no plans for blessings, you’ll overlook them when they come your way.
So, what’s your next mountain to climb? What’s your next challenge to overcome? What’s the next level of success you want to achieve? Have faith that these things will come to pass and then put action behind that faith. God has given you an incredible mind and body. He only asks that you use them with purpose. Make plans for the blessings and be receptive when they come your way. Pray for that next mountain, tie on your hiking boots, and prepare for the benefits that will surely come as you move upwards.
Remember you come from Good Stock and excellence is always possible.
