Are You Sure?
As mentioned in the last daily message, we are going to begin a new walk with Christ. This may be a journey you have just started, are already walking, or are re-walking again. Regardless, there is nothing more critical or more life-saving and life-enhancing than an exploration of faith. This is especially the case when doubts about your salvation creep in, as they sometimes do.
Over the next several days, we will be covering study materials we have developed for our new believers. Regardless of where you are in your walk with God, these investigations and exercises can boost your faith and remind you to always lean on God.
He promises that Jesus Christ will come into your life when you ask him and that this relationship will last through this lifetime and into eternity. When you stand before the Throne of God, you will be welcomed to your new home to live forever.
- John 1:12-13 “But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, or of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God.”
- John 14:20 “When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
- 1 John 4:15 “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God—God remains in him and he in God.”
God has promised you that your sins have been forgiven. They are never to be brought up again by Jesus. On the other hand, the devil will continually bring them up to condemn you and to take your focus off Christ. Know that this is only an accusation and not a sentencing from God.
- Acts 10:43 “All the prophets testify about Him that through His name everyone who believes in Him will receive forgiveness of sins.”
- Colossians 2:13-14 “God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.”
God promises that you will have eternal life when you accept Jesus as your savior. Christ canceled the record of wrongs against you and nailed them to His Cross. He paid for your sins and mine.
- 1 John 5:13 “I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.”
You are never alone on this journey. Christ is with you each step of the way, and we are here to encourage you and support you on your discovery of faith.
EXERCISE: Write a description of when, where, and how you became a Christian. Make a note of the promise that God has given you today.
