Crushed In Spirit?
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
God is near and He cares for us deeply.
As we reflect on this verse, we should also consider how we can respond to it. Here are a few ideas :
- Reach out to someone who is struggling. If you know someone who is going through a tough time, take the time to reach out to them and let them know you care. Offer to listen, pray with them, or help in any way you can. Be a source of comfort and support for them. Galatians 6:2
- Share your own story of how God has helped you through difficult times. Sometimes, the most encouraging thing we can do for someone else is to share our own experiences of how God has helped us through tough times. It reminds them that they are not alone and that there is hope for their situation. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
- Pray for those who are hurting. Take some time to pray for those who are struggling with broken hearts and crushed spirits. Ask God to comfort them and to provide them with the strength they need to get through their difficult season. Romans 15:1
- Take care of yourself. If you are the one who is struggling, don’t forget to take care of yourself. Make sure you are getting enough rest, eating well, and taking time to do things that bring you joy. Lean on God for strength and ask for help when you need it. Proverbs 3:5-6
Remember, no matter how difficult our circumstances may be, God is close to us and He cares for us deeply. Let us respond to Psalm 34:18 by being a source of comfort and support for those who are hurting, and by trusting in God to help us through our own difficult seasons.
PRAISE BE TO THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF COMPASSION AND THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT, WHO COMFORTS US IN ALL OUR TROUBLES, SO THAT WE CAN COMFORT THOSE IN ANY TROUBLE WITH THE COMFORT WE OURSELVES RECEIVE FROM GOD.
