Your Daily Dose of Boldness – Equipped By God

EQUIPPED BY GOD

“The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, ” I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. The Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth.”

Jeremiah 1:4-9

Notice Jeremiah’s response to God’s call on his life…“I do not know how to speak; I am too young” Perhaps you have had a similar conversation with God. Maybe you are on the opposite side of the spectrum and you feel as if you are too old, inadequate, ill equipt, or fearful. God speaks encouragement to Jeremiah not to give him self-confidence but to reassure him that He would be with Him to deliver him.

Are you in a place of fear? God is with you! This visual of the Lord placing His words into Jeremiah’s mouth speaks of equipping him so that he can accomplish the calling upon his life from God. What a beautiful picture of God’s provision.

Have you been called? Look to the Lord to equip you to accomplish each task, then God will receive all of the glory as well. Everyone will recognize that it was not by our talent but by God’s equipping!
