It’s time to make God-Centered Plans for the New Year.
Most people’s plans for the New Year revolve around losing
weight, finding a higher-paying job, kicking the smoking habit,
eating better, drinking less alcohol, drinking more water,
starting or finishing projects… you name it, people plan it.
However, around the second to third week, these “well-laid”
plans begin to crumble. All that is remaining are a few
memories… the gym membership in the wallet, a Nicorette
gum wrapper on the floor in the car, and a few circled jobs in
the employment section of the newspaper.
These half-hearted goals break down because there is no
profound meaning behind them. There is nothing to root them
into fertile soil to grow. Although they are reasonable goals,
they are never made with the right intentions.
Why? Because they are human-centered and easily confused
and conflicted by everything else that’s going on. The goal to
lose weight or quit smoking is initially made with good
intentions but also with significant loopholes. Failure is often
already built into the equation.
God-Centered plans are different. They are profound,
purposeful, and joyful. If God’s will is at the center of your
goal-making, you’re more likely to complete the goal and
complete it well.
So, allow God into your life this year and include Him in all
your goals. His will is infallible and constant and can buoy you
up when failure seems an option.

I KNOW WHERE I AM GOING…”
