Your Daily Dose of Boldness – He’s Only One Call Away

He’s Only One Call Away

Have you ever said, “If I only had someone to talk to?” Have you ever wanted someone to listen to you, not necessarily tell you what to do? Guess what, you do! You have a direct line to God, and he’s ready and willing to listen to whatever you have to say, whenever you have to say it. Like a good friend or family member, he wants you to stay in touch with Him through prayer and worship. This means that you can go to God with both joys and pain, and He will be there to listen.

Not only does He hear you, but he’s also directly communicating with you through scripture and prayer. He’s talking to you too.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

The privilege to talk to God anytime and anywhere will be one of the things that will keep you grounded in this troubled world. Bringing your concerns to God regularly in prayer will provide you with peace in your life. As you continue to talk to God, your faith will grow, and you will be more prepared to deal with the trials that come your way. More importantly, prayer will equip you to talk to others about God.

  • Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
  • Colossians 4:2 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

As you grow in your faith, you will discover that, although you could pray to God in a crisis, you would rather talk to Him every day. You’ll have car conversations, dinner chats, work talks, and coffee breaks with God. This free and direct line to God means that you’ll never be alone or lonely again!

  • Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
  • Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.”

Exercise: Commit yourself to talk to God regularly. Start with at least three minutes a day of focused time talking to God, and prayer. Talk to him like a friend. Make a list of the things you’re talking to God about and your concerns.
