Your Daily Dose of Boldness: His Unbreakable Grip

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”

 John 10:27-29

During life’s uncertainties and trials, God’s Word provides us with comforting truth that transcends all doubt and fear. In this passage, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, speaks of the unshakable assurance that His followers can find in Him. These verses remind us of three fundamental aspects of our relationship with God – listening to His voice, the gift of eternal life, and the unbreakable grip of His hand.

Listening to His Voice: Jesus likens us to sheep who listen to the voice of the Shepherd. Just as sheep recognize the voice of their shepherd and follow his lead, we are called to listen to the voice of Jesus and follow His guidance. In the midst of life’s noise and confusion, taking the time to hear His voice through prayer, meditating on His Word, and seeking His will can bring clarity, direction, and peace to our lives. When we align ourselves with His voice, we position ourselves to experience the fullness of His love and guidance.

The Gift of Eternal Life: Jesus promises eternal life to His followers. This isn’t just life that extends endlessly; it’s a life of purpose, meaning, and intimacy with our Creator. By embracing His gift of eternal life, we find hope that goes beyond our earthly existence, knowing that we are destined for a glorious eternity with our Lord and Savior.

The Unbreakable Grip: In these verses, Jesus paints a powerful picture of His Father’s hands holding onto us – a grip that is stronger and more secure than anything else in the world. This imagery speaks of God’s unwavering love, protection, and faithfulness. Just as a child finds safety and comfort in the arms of a loving parent, we can rest assured that we are held securely in God’s hands. No circumstance, trial, or force can snatch us away from His care.

How does this apply to my life now?

  • Tune into His Voice: Take intentional time each day to listen to God’s voice through prayer and reading your Bible. Listen for His guidance and wisdom as you navigate your daily life.
  • Embrace Eternal Perspective: Live with an eternal perspective, remembering that your life is not limited to this world. Remember that there are those around us who have yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, accepting Him as Savior, repenting of their sins, and asking Jesus to be Lord of their life so eternity is much different for them. Allow this perspective to shape your decisions, priorities, and how you treat others.
  • Trust His Unwavering Grip: When faced with challenges, remember that you are held by God’s unbreakable grip. Let this truth alleviate anxiety and fear and replace them with trust and confidence in His loving care.
  • Share the Assurance: Just as you have received the assurance of God’s unshakable love, share this truth with others. Boldly share the Good News of the gospel with everyone you encounter each day.

Let’s Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the unshakable assurance we find in Your Word. Help us to always listen to Your voice, to embrace the gift of eternal life, and to trust in Your unbreakable grip. In times of uncertainty, may we find our refuge in You. Give us the courage to share Your love Boldly with others so that they too may experience the depth of Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
