In Christ: Alive
In Romans Chapter 6, the Bible teaches us that when we accept Jesus Christ into our lives as Lord and Savior, we are baptized into (or enter into) His death and His resurrection. In so doing, we die to or old life of sin and are raised to a new life in Jesus Christ.
This transformation is symbolized in the act of baptism by immersion. As the believer is lowered beneath the water, their death is represented. As they are brought up out of the water, their resurrection and new life is depicted.
“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 6: 8-11
This new life in Christ is one that is meant to be lived in God’s righteousness and holiness, “and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4: 24. It is patterned after God Himself to reflect His image, “and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” – Colossians 3: 10
Make sure you thank God today for this new life. Thank Him for being alive in Christ!

WE WERE THEREFORE BURIED WITH HIM THROUGH BAPTISM INTO DEATH IN ORDER THAT, JUST AS CHRIST WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD THROUGH THE GLORY OF THE FATHER, WE TOO MAY LIVE A NEW LIFE.
