Jesus Prays for Peter
During the Last Supper, Jesus tells Peter that difficult times are on the horizon. Before the night’s over, the impulsive disciple would betray Him. Knowing what is about to take place, Jesus also informs Peter that He has prayed for him and that through this trial there is a calling on Peter’s life. Regardless of Peter’s past failings, Jesus has a job for Peter to complete – strengthen your brothers.
“Simon, Simon, look out! Satan has asked to sift you like wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned your back, strengthen your brothers.”
Luke 22:31-32
Regardless of our failings, both past and future, Jesus prays for us and all His followers. His word assures us that we too have a calling on our lives. Let that sink into your heart today!
Therefore, He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 7:25

IN THE SAME WAY THE SPIRIT ALSO JOINS TO HELP IN OUR WEAKNESS, BECAUSE WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO PRAY FOR AS WE SHOULD, BUT THE SPIRIT HIMSELF INTERCEDES FOR US WITH UNSPOKEN GROANINGS.
