Make an Impact
John 15:16 says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” This verse reminds us of the importance of being chosen and appointed by God, and of the purpose He has for each of us.
So, what are some steps we can take to live out this verse in our daily lives? Here are a few suggestions:
- Seek God’s will: In order to bear fruit that will last, we need to be in alignment with God’s will and purpose for our lives. This means taking time to pray, read the Bible, and listen for God’s voice in our hearts. We should seek to discern His plan for us, and then follow it with diligence and faithfulness.
- Pursue excellence: If we are called to bear fruit that will last, we need to approach our work with a spirit of excellence and dedication. Whether we are in business, ministry, or any other field, we should strive to do our best and to make a positive impact in the world.
- Collaborate with others: The verse speaks of bearing fruit, which suggests that we are not meant to do this work alone. We should seek out opportunities to collaborate with others who share our vision and purpose, and to build relationships that will help us achieve our goals.
- Pray with confidence: The verse also promises that whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, the Father will give us. This doesn’t mean that we can ask for anything we want, but it does mean that as we seek to do God’s will and fulfill our purpose, we can pray with confidence that He will provide what we need to accomplish what He has called us to do.
In summary, to live out John 15:16 in our daily lives, we should seek God’s will, pursue excellence, collaborate with others, and pray with confidence. By doing so, we can bear fruit that will last and make a meaningful impact in the world.
