No Condemnation
Too often mankind approaches God as a God of wrath and of vengeance. While these are certainly expressions that are seen in scripture, it is not the primary way in which we should see God.
Scripture is clear that God’s preference is to redeem mankind and restore a personal relationship with Him. 1 John 4:8 & 4:16 both tell us explicitly that “God is love.” The heart of God is expressed in Psalm 102:19-20 where we learn, “The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.”
We need to experience God love, redemption, and reconciliation. This is available through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4
Condemnation is a tool used by satan to keep you away from God. Feelings of condemnation lead to guilt. When these are left unchecked, they cause the holder of these feeling to attempt to hide the condemnation and guilt from God and others. This drives a wedge in your relationship with God.
When this happens, you need to run to the cross and seek God’s forgiveness. Jesus died on the cross for this very reason. To provide forgiveness for your sins. Just as he told the woman caught in adulty in John 8:11, ‘…“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”’
There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!
