“Such a Time as This”
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
This verse reminds us that sometimes we are called to take a stand and speak up for what is right, even when it is difficult or risky. Esther faced a life-threatening situation, but she was in a unique position to help her people. Her cousin Mordecai urged her to use her influence to plead with the king on behalf of the Jews.
The same is true for us. Sometimes God puts us in certain situations or positions for a specific purpose. We may not always understand why we are where we are, but we can trust that God has a plan. Like Esther, we have a responsibility to use our influence and resources to make a positive impact on the world around us.
It’s also important to remember that God is ultimately in control, and he will work out his plans with or without us. If we choose to remain silent or ignore the call to action, someone else may step up to fulfill that role. However, if we choose to follow God’s leading and take bold steps of faith, we may be surprised at the ways he uses us to accomplish his purposes.
So, let us be like Esther and have the courage to speak up for what is right, even in the face of danger or uncertainty. And let us trust that God will guide and protect us as we seek to serve him and make a difference in the world.
