Teaming Up With God
Have you ever thought that God needs you? Have you ever wondered if God depends on your cooperation to do His will? It sounds kind of funny when you say it… God needs a mere mortal to enact His will? Can’t He just do it Himself? Well, the simple answer to this question is, yes He can. But where’s the lesson in that, right?
The truth is, God has chosen to accept our cooperation in the things of this world. In fact, a repetitive message in the Bible is that we should all pray, in all things, for all people. When we do so, we are cooperating with God. We are teaming up with him to accomplish His work on this Earth.
The thing about prayer is it’s God’s way of putting a very powerful tool into your hands. It is a timeless, universal, and limitless device. Prayers you say now may be answered next year. Prayers you say today for missionaries in Africa or Asia can be answered no matter how far away you live. Prayers you say for someone who you are at odds with and will have nothing to do with you in person, can touch their heart. They may reject you and your arguments, but they cannot reject your prayers. I’ve personally seen this happen. I’ve prayed fervently for people who will have nothing to do with me and I’ve seen God chip away at their resolve and anger.
Prayer is your direct line to God. It makes you sensitive to God in your life. Suddenly, the messages or signs you would normally have missed before, are obvious to you. It makes you enthusiastic about God. When you are in constant communication with someone, in full cooperation with them, and you can see the good blessings enacted your life, you can’t help but be excited. Prayer allows this sheer joy.
So, I encourage you to pray, communicate, and cooperate with God. Be on His team to bring Heaven to Earth in prayer.
