The Golden Rule

The Golden Rule. It’s an easy rule to remember and most people know it by heart. However, remembering is one thing… acting on it is entirely another thing. Forgiveness, mercy, grace, and a devout desire to serve others, regardless of their choices, beliefs, and sins, is what Jesus’ life was all about. His life was indicative of the Golden Rule.

I know from personal trial and error that this kind of example is tough, if not impossible, to live up to. Every Christian strives toward Christ-like perfection but falls pitiably short of it. Lucky for us, God forgives us of these shortcomings and asks us to keep on trying.

This week, I issue this one challenge: Let the Golden Rule be your Guiding Motto, and let your light shine so that others can see God’s influence in your life.
