The Wise Still Seek Him…Are You?
Most people know the story of the wise men who sought out
Jesus. We tell the story and sing the songs about them, but
rarely do we put ourselves into these wise men’s shoes. Today,
let us act as the wise men did and search out for our Savior by
understanding what they did, why it was necessary, and what
we can learn from them.
What did they do? The wise men began a long trip because a
particular star was in the sky, which alerted them that the king
of the Jews was born. They traveled for several months to
finally meet the Christ child in person.
Why is this important? Likely these men were gentiles and
not believers of God, yet this did not stop Him from seeking
them. God never gives up and uses whatever means he can to
help lead you to Christ. In this case, God sent the wise men a
message using an astronomical event, a star, to signal to them
that they needed to search for the child. God used a language
they understood. What language is God using with you? How
is He reaching you where you are today?
What can you learn from them? God promises that if you
seek him, you will find him, and He will reward you for your
journey of faith. Are you a seeker who has begun your journey
to personally meet Christ and form a relationship with Him? If
so, I encourage you not to give up on the journey. It may be
long. It may be wrought with hardships and hiccups, but
remember, you are always just within arms-reach of HIM.
“WHERE IS THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN BORN KING OF
THE JEWS? WE SAW HIS STAR WHEN IT ROSE AND
HAVE COME TO WORSHIP HIM.”
