When I first began He’s the Solution, it was just me, my wife, and my marketing director. We did everything for the ministry on a part time basis and honestly, we did it the best we could considering we were strapped for cash and time.
You see, we had just been through the Great Recession and after letting everyone else go, we were the final three standing, left holding the last few strands of the business. Needless to say, it was a bleak time.
This was one of the reasons why I started He’s the Solution Ministries. God and faith were all we had remaining after the collapse of the economy and if I was in dire need of God’s inspiration, I was pretty sure others were too.
Since that fateful moment, when the entire world had crumbled down around us, God has helped us rebuild and refocus the company. We now understand that through bold faith, in ALL aspects of our lives, including business, anything is possible.
In light of this new focus and our efforts, God has blessed us with more ministering then I can possibly do myself. Since changing directions, we have more and more faithful joining our company and more and more Christians becoming our clients. It has been an encouraging and exciting development, however I was soon faced with the fact that I couldn’t do everything on my own.
I have always found that surrounding myself with smart and passionate individuals is the only way I will grow as a person and my company will prosper as a business. With the remarkable changes we were seeing, I realized I needed to do the same thing with the ministry. Not only was it necessary for me, I wanted to allow others to grow in their faith by actually working in their faith. It had transformed me (and continues to transform me) in remarkable ways.
So I appointed a President of the Ministry to oversee the vision and make sure we always had “boots on the ground” in every city we visited. Because I never want to go without church on Sunday, I believe it’s important for others, who attend our seminars, not to have to miss it either! Therefore we pulled in several key people who understand the Bible and have a knack for giving a great message. We now have dedicated servants who can travel the country with my seminar team to conduct church and give God’s word each and every Sunday.
By delegating and sharing the responsibility of the ministry, we have been able to grow, reach more people in more ways with God’s word, and double our ministry! Seeing God’s influence in others, each and every week, has been an amazing experience.
J. Oswald Sanders says in Chapter 19, “The ultimate test of a person’s leadership is the health of the organization when the organizer is gone.” I am thrilled knowing that when I’m not able to be at an event, or give my Sunday message, I have a group of people who are more than capable and willing to fill in for me. They do a phenomenal job preaching God’s word and offering Jesus’ salvation to others.
I’m very thankful I was able to pass the torch and watch others grow in Christ!
